Bridges are a popular answer to tooth loss, and give our patients back their pride and confidence in their smile.

A dental bridge essentially bridges a gap in your mouth.

Bridges in 60 Seconds

  • Replace gaps in your smile with a cost-effective solution.
  • A bridge literally bridges the gaps in your teeth by replacing a missing tooth with a false tooth which is bonded to the natural teeth on either side of the gap.
  • Bridges reply on the support of natural teeth and commonly consist of two crowns.
  • 0% finance available*
  • Bridges can be supported with dental implants for added stability.
*Terms and conditions apply. Written quotations are available on request from Wesleyan Bank Limited.
Credit facilities are subject to status and affordability checks and only available to UK residents over the age of 18.

The Dental Bridge Patient Journey

1
Journey Icon

First Treatment Visit
If you are a new patient to Olive Tree Dental a new patient exam is carried out first to ensure you are dentally fit for dental bridge treatment. We carry out a comprehensive assessment of your mouth, and take X-rays and photographs of your teeth, whilst also examining the soft tissues such as your gums and tongue, as well the gland area.

Once the need for a bridge is ascertained, we kindly ask that you attend a follow-up crown preparation visit.

Second Treatment Visit
The tooth is prepared for the bridge. Once it has been numbed with local anaesthetic, the tooth or teeth adjacent to the gap are filed down to accommodate the crowns. An impression is taken and sent away to the dental laboratory, where your bridge will be custom-made for your smile. A temporary bridge is fitted whilst you wait for your permanent bridge to be designed.

Third Treatment Visit
The area is numbed with anesthetic. Once the temporary bridge is removed, and the area has been cleaned, the new bridge is placed over the top. Once you and your dentist are content with the fit, we can use a strong adhesive to cement it in place.

Aftercare
We recommend avoiding hot food and drink whilst your tooth is still numb, as you may experience a burning sensation within the tooth. If anything doesn’t feel quite right in the days after treatment, please let us know.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What Is a Dental Bridge?

Bridges are comparable to dental crowns. The difference is, whilst crowns are individual restorations for your teeth, a bridge is a cojoined restoration that uses 2 or more crowns, and a false tooth in the middle, providing the replacement the gap in your smile needs.

Can A Bridge Be Fixed In Place With Implants?

Dental implants are an excellent mode of tooth replacement, providing an added degree of stability for your bridge. Dental implants are replacement tooth roots, so once they have been placed, they act just like real teeth. In fact, they are the most tooth-like solution for replacing gaps in your smile.

Discover the many life-changing benefits of implant-supported bridges (also called All-on-4 treatment), here.

Will Anyone Notice I Have a Dental Bridge?

Your dental bridge will be designed to fit the shape and dimensions of your mouth, and the crowns will be matched to the shade of your existing teeth. Our aim is always to meticulously plan the design of your bridge according to your facial aesthetic, and the condition of your existing healthy teeth. This makes for a beautiful, natural tooth replacement solution.

I have been going to olive tree dental now, for about a year and a half. The service is always so friendly and they really help you make the best decision when it comes to your teeth. I have had Invisalign treatment with Patricia, which was exceptional. The regular hygienist appointments and general check ups are also very good, and the parking around the dentist is excellent. I would highly recommend going here.read more

From the first step through the door it felt far removed from the standard clinical feel of any dentist I had been to previously. Not only are the offices beautifully decorated and the staff welcoming and friendly but the resulting impression from my first appointment was one of confidence instead of fear. Dr Zyada was very thorough in her checks and took the time to go through each and every tooth to explain exactly what needed to be done and why. It makes the return appointment a lot less daunting, thank you. Would definitely recommend Olive Tree Dental.read more

The team at Olive Tree Dental are great! My dentist was very thorough and took the time to patiently explain her findings and what would be required for future visits. Like most people I don't enjoy going to the dentist, but the team made it as comfortable as possible. The rooms were really clean too!read more

I went to Olive Tree Dental Clinic few times for teeth cleaning, emergency dental work and consultations. The clinic was very clean and inviting, stuff was very friendly and dentist was very gentle and reassuring. I appreciated the fact that she was communicating with me during the procedures so I wasn’t wondering what’s going on or when it will finish. I’ve been to quite a few dental clinics previously but never felt as valued and welcomed, and never got such high quality dental service. Highly recommend it to anyone and especially to those who feel nervous and anxious when visiting dentist. I feel lucky to live nearby!read more
